One such story began in 1930, when one man dared to dream of taking Indian leather to the centre stage of the world leather industry.

Miya Mohamed Zackria was born in 1904 in Vaniyambadi. In 1930 at the young age of 26 years he established M/s. Miya Haji Mohamed Ismail & Company and opened his first tannery in his home town Vaniyambadi.  Very soon with determination and hard work he opened 2 more tanneries in Chennai, Tamil Nadu & Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh. 

Since Miya Mohamed Zackria was keen on high quality, venturing into the export market was only a natural progression. The firm and the business grew with orders increasing day by day. As a leading businessman of leather industry, he was also founding member of Southern India Skin and Hide Merchants Association and Vice President of SISHMA for a number of years. Miya Mohamed Zackria till his death in 1968, involved himself in many educational and charitable institutions.
